NHS Sussex are running a safeguarding fortnight from Monday 6th – Friday 17th November 2023. The theme this year is ‘Health Inequalities and the impact on children in care and safeguarding’ and there will be a range of both internal and external speakers delivering both virtual and in person sessions. There is also an in-person conference taking place at the Amex Stadium on the 15th November.
Sessions running during the fortnight will include transitions in safeguarding, contextual safeguarding, Trauma-Informed Practice, Intimate Partner Violence, Adversity and Mental Health, Substance Misuse, and Fraud and Scams. The Brighton & Hove and East Sussex SABs will be presenting a joint session on Self-Neglect and Hoarding behaviour.
