Multi-agency Training

Learning and Development

There are a range of courses available for those involved in adult safeguarding in the city through the Learning and Development team at Brighton and Hove City Council, which can be booked through Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity Act & DOLS (office365.com)

These courses range from a basic awareness of Safeguarding Adults to specialised sessions on the Mental Capacity Act, and include working with adults who have learning disabilities, dignity & empowerment and person-centred risk.

Safer Communities

The Safe in the City Partnership Board provide a range of training on Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence to support the city’s Violence Against Women & Girls Strategy. To find out more about training and access the Prospectus visit www.safeinthecity.info/training.

Prevent

Following on from the information on  page on this website the Home Office has developed training on Prevent that can be accessed at Prevent E-Learning

This is a short training session on radicalisation, spotting the signs of this and how to support those who may be at risk.

Modern Slavery

Following on from the Modern Slavery page on this website there is a range of training resources available from the Home Office that can be accessed at Modern slavery training: resource page – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

These include raising awareness and understanding of modern slavery and exploitation, how to spot signs that it may be occurring, posters and leaflets for victims those at risk as well as guides for professionals and organisations.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

Following the duty introduced in 2015 requiring health and social care professionals and teachers to report ‘known’ cases of FGM in girls aged under 18 to the police the Home Office developed e-learning for professionals to find out more about FGM.

Safeguarding Children Partnership

The Brighton and Hove Safeguarding Children Partnership run a programme of multi-agency training on safeguarding children and young people. These can be accessed at Multi-Agency Training – BHSCP

The training courses include;

  • Mental Health and Children’s Services: Working Together with Families
  • Safeguarding Adolescents
  • Trauma Informed Practice: A Multi-Agency Practice

National Trading Standards

The National Trading Standards (NTS) Scams Team have developed an e-learning resource to assist professionals who work with victims of scams.
